Asal Mula Raket AsTec


Setelah Olimpiade Atlanta 1996, Alan memutuskan pensiun dari bidang olahraga yang sangat dicintainya itu. Pensiun dari bulu tangkis tidak langsung memutus hubungan Alan dengan bulutangkis. Sejak pertengahan 2002, Alan bersama Susi mendirikan perusahaan yang memproduksi raket dengan merk sendiri, yaitu Astec (Alan-Susi Technology). Selain itu, pada tahun 2005, Alan dan Susi menggagas turnamen yang diperuntukkan bagi anak-anak dan dewasa, yaitu Astec Terbuka, dengan harapan dapat lahir bibit-bibit pemain bulu tangkis muda dan juga dapat mencetak lebih banyak lagi pemain berprestasi di tahun yang akan datang. Kemudian mulai tahun 2009, kategori dewasa pada Astec Terbuka masuk dalam kalender Federasi Bulutangkis Dunia (BWF). Untuk mewujudkan komitmen memajukan dunia bulu tangkis Indonesia, Alan bersama Astec juga menjadi sponsor bagi salah satu klub bulu tangkis yang juga telah mencetak sejumlah pemain dunia, yakni Tangkas Alfamart.

Alan Budikusuma


Alan Budikusuma was born March 29, 1968 is a former Chinese Indonesian badminton player who excelled at the world level from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s.
In 1991 he was runner-up to China's Zhao Jianhua at the IBF World Championships in Copenhagen. He won the 1992 Olympic men's singles gold medal at Barcelona, defeating fellow countryman Ardy Wiranata in the final. Among his titles, all in singles, are the Thailand Open (1989, 1991), China Open (1991), German Open (1992), Indonesian Open (1993), World Cup (1993), and Malaysian Open(1995). Budikusuma was a member of world champion Indonesian Thomas Cup teams in 1994 and 1996. He is married to Susi Susanti, a women's badminton Olympic gold medalist (also in 1992) and one of the most accomplished women's players in the history of the sport.

Rudy Hartono


Rudy Hartono Kurniawan was born August 18, 1949) is a former Indonesian badminton star who won the men's singles title at the World Championships in 1980, and the prestigious All-England Championships trophy eight times, seven times consecutively (1968–1974), in the 1960s and 1970s. He is one of the most famous players in the history of the sport. His sister is also a former world-level badminton player, Utami Dewi Kinard.

Badminton Career
During his prime years Hartono won men's singles in most of the international tournaments that he entered. He also played on six consecutive Indonesian Thomas Cup (men's international) teams between 1967 and 1982, the first of these when he was only seventeen, helping Indonesia to win four consecutive world team championships ( 1970, 1973, 1976, 1979 ) in what was then a triennial event. His game was characterized by great power, accuracy, agility, mobility, aggressiveness, and coolness under pressure. In 1997 he was among the first group of players inducted into the World Badminton Hall of Fame.

1972 Summer Olympics
Hartono competed in badminton at the 1972 Summer Olympics, where badminton was one of two demonstrstion sports. It was the first time that the sport was part of the Olympic program, and it would become an official Olympic sport 20 years later at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
He won the men's singles event, after beating Jamie Paulson of Canada in the first round, Sture Johnson of Sweden in the semifinals, and Svend Pri of Denmark in the final 15–6, 15–1.

Tony Gunawan


Tony Gunawan was born 9 April 1975 is an Indonesian born badminton player of Chinese descent.
Gunawan is a former Olympic gold medalist and world champion for Indonesia, and now represents the United States. He is regarded by many, including his peers, as one of the greatest doubles players in badminton's history . A superb all-around player with a particular facility in the forecourt, his versatility in doubles is unmatched, having won the 2000 Olympics gold medal, the 2001 World Championships, and 2005 World Championships with 3 different partners.
He won the Men's Doubles gold medal in the 2005 IBF World Championships from the 13th seeded position with his American partner Howard Bach. Gunawan partnered with Halim Haryanto to win the 2001 IBF World Championships as well as the 2001 All-England Open, and with Candra Wijaya to win the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. He was a member of the world champion 2000 Indonesia Thomas Cup team, winning his final match against China with yet another partner, Rexy Mainaky.
Gunawan and Bach won the 2005 IBF World Championships Men's Doubles gold over Gunawan's ex-partner Wijaya and Sigit Budiarto who were also finalists in the 2003 IBF World Championships in the same event. Tony played for Indonesia from 1992–2001 and is the winner of numerous international titles. He has coached and played for USA since 2001. Tony is currently studying in Orange Country, California and coaches at San Gabriel Badminton Club 2 (Pomona).

Sony Dwi Kuncoro


Sony Dwi Kuncoro was born July 7, 1984 in Surabaya, Jawa Timur, Indonesia is a male badminton singles player from Indonesia. When he was young, he joined the Suryanaga Suranaya badminton club. His parents are Moch. Sumadji (father) and Asmiati (mother). His hobbies are fixing automobiles and hanging-out or travelling. Generally people call him Sony, which can also be spelled as Soni.

2004 Summer Olympics
Kuncoro played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's singles, defeating M. Roslin Hashim of  Malaysia and Jim Ronny Andersen of Norway in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Kuncoro defeated Park Tae-sang of Korea 15-13, 15-4. Kuncoro advanced to the semifinals, in which he lost to Shon Seung-mo of Korea 15-6, 9-15, 15-9. Playing in the bronze medal match, he defeated Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand by a score of 15-11, 17-16 for the bronze medal.

2007 BWF World Championships
He became runner up at the 2007 IBF World Championships after losing to Lin Dan in straight sets with score 11-21 20-22 in Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Malaysia.But, in his road through the final, he defeated Lee Chong Wei in the third round 21-9 21-11, Peter Gade in the quarter final, 22-20 21-18. He also beat Chen Yu in the semifinal with 3 tough game.

2009 BWF World Championships
He was bronze medalist at the 2009 BWF World Championships, again losing to Lin Dan, but this time with 3 sets, 16-21 21-14 15-21. En route to the semi, he beat Lee Chong Wei (world number one) in the quarter finals with 21-16 14-21 21-12.

He was also being the runner up in World Junior Championships in 2000, defeated by Bao Chunlai. He also had good result in Asian Badminton Championships, with two titles. On September 23, 2007, Sony won the Chinese Taipei Open after beating Taufik Hidayat at the final round by 18-21, 21-6, 21-13. Sony has also won the men's singles gold medal twice at the Southeast Asian Games (2003, 2005). At the SEA Games in 2007 and 2009, Sony helped the Indonesia win gold at the men's team event. In June of 2008, Sony won the Indonesian Super Series after beating Simon Santoso in the final round by scores of 19-21, 21-14, 21-9 in Istora Senayan, Jakarta. In September of 2008 Sony won the Japan Super Series after beating Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia in straight sets 21-17, 21-11 in the final round. Also in September of 2008 he captured the China Masters Super Series by beating China's Chen Jin 21-19, 21-18 in the final, thus becoming the first player to win men's singles at three consecutive "super series" tournaments.
In 2009, his best performance in Super Series was being the semifinalist in Indonesia Super Series, beaten by Taufik Hidayat, 17-21 14-21 and in Denmark Super Series by Marc Zwiebler of Germany with three tough games. In December, once again he helped Indonesia to be the best in Southeast Asian Games, beating Malaysia in the men teams final. He also finished second in the individual event, beaten by his teammate Simon Santoso.
In 2012, he won the Men's Single title in Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold after defeat China's Chen Yuekun in straight games, 21-17, 21-14. In the semi final, he beat the first seed from China, Lin Dan also in straight games, 21-17, 21-16.

Susi Susanti


Lucia Francisca Susi Susanti was born in Tasikmalaya, West Java on 11 February 1971 is a retired Indonesian badminton player. Relatively small of stature, she combined quick and graceful movement with elegant shotmaking technique, and rates among the most successful players in the history of the women's game. Sometimes her name is also spelled Susy Susanti.
She won the women's singles gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain and the bronze medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, United States. She retired from the world badminton circuit not long after her marriage to Alan Budikusuma (who had also won a badminton singles gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics) in February 1997. Susanti was the most dominant women's singles player in the first half of the 1990s, winning the All-England in 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1994, the World Badminton Grand Prix finale five times consecutively from 1990 to 1994 as well as in 1996, and the IBF World Championships in 1993.
She is the only female player to hold the Olympic, World Championship, and All-England singles titles simultaneously. She won the Japan Open three times and the Indonesian Open five times. She also won numerous Badminton Grand Prix Series events and five Badminton World Cups. She led the Indonesian team to victory over perennial champion China in the 1994 and 1996 Uber Cup (women's world team) competitions. All of this came during a relatively strong period in women's international badminton. Her chief competitors early in her prime years were the Chinese players Tang Jiuhong and Huang Hua, and, later, China's Ye Zhaoying and the Korean star Bang Soo-hyun.
Susanti was inducted into the International Badminton Federation (IBF, currently BWF) Hall of Fame in May 2004, and received the Herbert Scheele Trophy in 2002.

Meiliana Jauhari


Meiliana Jauhari was born Jakarta, DKI Jakarta; 7 May 1984 is a female badminton player from Indonesia.
Meiliana competed women's doubles in BWF Super Series at the 2008 Indonesia Super Series, 2009 Malaysia Super Series, and 2009 Korea Super Series with her partner, Shendy Puspa Irawati.
Now, Meiliana played with Greysia Polii in the women's doubles. Surprisingly, at the first time they played together, they beat Korean pairs Lee Kyung-won and Ha Jung-eun, 21-14, 21-12. In 2010 All England Super Series, they went to the quarterfinals after defeated 4th seeded Malaysian pairs Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui with straight sets. In the quarterfinals, they played rubber set against Pan Pan and Tian Qing from China but lost 23-25, 21-17, 17-21. They played on Uber Cup but they lost to Ma Jin and Wang Xiaoli of China in the semifinals. They became the runner-up of 2010 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold after lost to Chien Yu-chin and Cheng Wen-hsing of Chinese Taipei with rubber sets.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Jauhari and her partner Greysia Polii, along with Jung Kyung-eun and Kim Ha-na, Ha Jung-eun and Kim Min-Jung of South Korea, and Wang Xialoi and Yu Yang of China were disqualified from the competition for "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport" following matches the previous evening during which they were accused of trying to losr in order to manipulate the draw.Jauhari and her partner Greysia Polii played against South Korea's Ha Jung-eun and Kim Min-Jung. Indonesia filed an appeal to the case, but it was withdrawn.

Greysia Polii


Greysia Polii was born Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, Agust 11, 1987 is a female badminton player from Indonesia. In 2007 Polii won women's doubles at theIndonesian National Championships with Jo Novita. They were women's doubles silver medalists at both the 2005 and 2007 Southeast Asian Games. Polii was a member of Indonesian Sudirman Cup teams that finished second to China in 2005 and 2007.At Quarter final Singapore Open Greysia Polii beat The World No. 1 Wong Pei Tty / Chin Eei Hui from Malaysia and beat The World No. 9 Lena Frier Kristiansen / Kamilia Rytter Juhl from Denmark in Semi final.
 In French Open 2009, Greysia Polii / Nitya Krishinda Maheswari can go to Semifinal, after beating Wong Pei Tty / Chin Eei Hui from Malaysia in Quarterfinal, And Lena Frier Kristiansen / Kamilia Rytter Juhl  from Denmark, Before defeated by Chinese Ma Jin / Wang Xiaoli from China with 2 set 21-4, 21-18. In December 2009, Greysia Polii / Nitya Krishinda can't get the gold for Indonesia in SEA Games 2009 in Vientiane, Laos. Because defeated by young Thailand's women doubles Savitree Amitrapai / Munkit Vacharaporn. Now Greysia Polii partner double is Meiliana Jauhari as the new pair they can reached Quarter-Final of All-England 2010. At Quarter-Final they deafeted by Chinese pair Pan Pan / Tian Qing with tight rubber set 23-25, 21-17, 17-21, but before at the first round they defeated the Seed No. 4 Wong Pei Tty / Chin Eei Hui from Malaysia

Adrianti Firdasari



Adrianti Firdasari was born Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, December 16, 1986 is an female badminton player from Indonesia.
In 2005 she won the women's singles at the New Zealand Open. Firdasari played the 2007 BWF World Championships in women's singles, and was defeated in the second round by Xu Huaiwen, of Germany, 21–17, 22–20. She played on Sudirman Cup (combined men's and women's) teams for Indonesia, who finished second to China in 2005 and 207 In 2008 Singapore Super Series, she made a surprise by beating the 1st-seeded, Pi Hongyan of France, 21–16, 20–22, 21–16 in the second round.
She played in2008 Denmark Super Series and she beat Wang Chen of Hongkong, 21–10 19–21 21–14, in the first round. In the next round, she lost to Tine Rasmussen of Denmark in straight sets. In 2009, she played in Korea Super Series and went through the quarterfinal after beating Saina Nehwal  of India in rubber set. During the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, she lost to Fu Mingtian of Singapore in the finals, 14-21, 21-12, 22-20.
